Project summary:
This research project is a small sub-project which will lead to the larger research project, Field Implementation, Testing, and Refinement of Density-based Coordinated Ramp Control Strategy. This sub-project is a natural next step of an ongoing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Institute project for the development of Minnesota's next generation ramp metering strategy based on density. This sub-project is related with the first task of the field implementation, which is the coding of the new ramp metering algorithm in Java and the integration with the Integrated Real-time Information System (IRIS).
