Project summary:
In 2010, U-Pass sales and ridership peaked after many years of significant growth. Since then, semester pass sales and ridership have decreased except for a small increase shortly after the Green Line was opened in summer 2014. Due to the many changes along the corridor related to Green Line construction and opening, including changes in housing density, it has been very difficult to isolate the possible causes of U-Pass trends. Metro Transit wants to understand the changing shifts in U-Pass use by identifying groups of riders with similar use patterns (clusters) and learning how the relative size or ridership patterns of clusters have changed over time.
