Project summary:
Individual travel decisions add up to create large-scale traffic flows. The main objective of this research was to better understand this relationship by using agent-based modeling. The agent-based model focuses on three "agents" in the transportation system (node, arc, traveler) to explore how a driver's goal, knowledge, searching behavior, and learning ability affect travel decisions.
