Toward Zero Deaths Administration and Outreach 2012-2013

Project summary:

The safety of those using Minnesota's transportation systems is a major focus of the Minnesota Departments of Transportation (MnDOT), Public Safety (DPS), and Health (MDH); the U.S. Department of Transportation; the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA), the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS), and a number of private sector foundations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups. In 2003, the Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) program was formed to coordinate and focus traffic safety initiatives in Minnesota. At the request of MnDOT and the Office of Traffic Safety within DPS, CTS provides ongoing administrative support and coordination for the TZD program.
