Project summary:
The University of Minnesota, Department of Civil Engineering and Center for Transportation Studies (CTS), the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Office of Materials, and the Minnesota Local Road Research Board (LRRB) have agreed to participate in the creation and operation of a Pavement Research Institute. The concept of a Pavement Research Institute has been developing over several years. The basic premise is that pavement research could be strengthened by pooling the expertise and resources of several organizations that have a deep stake in producing and applying research that results in the best highway experience for Minnesota citizens. The institute is a way to expand commitment to pavement research activities in the State of Minnesota.
