Project summary:
The goal of the proposed research is to compute the auto accessibility measures for the Twin Cities region to destination types such as retail, entertainment, food/restaurant, and recreation for the period of 1995, 2000, and 2005. (Highway-based accessibility measures to jobs and labor were previously computed.) The results of the proposed work will provide a comprehensive evaluation of accessibility in the Twin Cities region, which can help in operational planning and in public involvement activities of transportation agencies to ascertain how investments, transportation strategies, market conditions, and land use policies affect the performance of the transportation-land use system.
