Project summary:
Transportation coordination at the local and regional levels in Minnesota is continuing to evolve and improve. Some key reforms have been implemented, others are in the works.
The Minnesota Council on Transportation Access (MCOTA) was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 2010 to "study, evaluate, oversee, and make recommendations to improve the coordination, availability, accessibility, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety of transportation services provided to the transit public." The Minnesota Department of Transportation asked the Center for Transportation Studies to continue to provide communications and outreach support and implementation for MCOTA, in order to assist the Council in meeting its objectives for improving transportation coordination throughout the state.
