Project summary:
AirTAP focuses on issues related to airport management, operation, and maintenance, and delivers services to a broad spectrum of airport and local agency personnel and officials. AirTAP conducts assessments to determine educational, technical assistance, and information/outreach initiatives, as well as to identify the best methods. Based on the needs identified, educational, technical assistance, and information/outreach products are developed to strengthen the understanding and skills in three key areas within airports: 1) maintenance, 2) operations, and 3) administration. Participants are encouraged to implement new airport technology, materials, and techniques. The program will improve operations, strengthen the effective use of new technology, improve the operational safety of airports, and build an airport community network to exchange best practices.
