2023 CTS Transportation Research Conference

About the Event

The 2023 event featured transportation thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners highlighting their research findings, implementation efforts, and engagement activities.

Program highlights included:

• An opening keynote presentation focused on using roadways to build safe, just, and affordable communities from Lynn Peterson, president of the Metro Council in Portland, Oregon. Following her presentation, Peterson was joined by Charles Zelle, chair of the Metropolitan Council, for a discussion of the challenges and opportunities for metropolitan mobility.
• An afternoon keynote by Alexandra Murphy, associate professor of sociology at the University of Michigan, focused on a new measurement tool for transportation insecurity—and how it can be used to deepen our knowledge base and advance transportation equity.
• A variety of concurrent sessions exploring crash prevention, accessibility, vulnerable road users, connected and automated vehicles, shared mobility, pavements, stormwater, and more.

Credit

Conference attendees are eligible for up to 7.25 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and 7.25 American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification maintenance credits.
